Predicting Pavement Condition Index Using Fuzzy Logic Technique

چکیده

The fuzzy logic technique is one of the effective approaches for evaluating flexible and rigid pavement distress. process classifying distress usually performed by visual inspection surface or using data collected automated measurement equipment. Fuzzy mathematics provides a convenient tool incorporating subjective analysis, uncertainty in condition index, maintenance-needs assessment, can greatly improve consistency reduce subjectivity this process. This paper aims to develop logic-based system index evaluation road network utilizing from U.S. Canada. Considering rutting, fatigue cracking, block longitudinal transverse potholes, patching, bleeding, raveling as input variables, variables were fuzzified into subsets. subsets considered have triangular membership functions. relationships between nine parameters PCI represented set rules. rules relating output variable sediment discharge laid out IF–THEN format. commonly used weighted average method was employed defuzzification procedure. coefficient determination (R2), root mean squared error (RMSE), absolute (MAE) performance indicator metrics evaluate analytical models.
